review: I liked the fact that you can do many different combos interspersed with your acrobatic skills. Being able to twirl around a pole and behead nearby enemies is great, no matter who you are. The only grievance i had with this game is that the audio kept going away. That may not be the game itself, but, it does kind of suck. I think this game is above others in the sense that it has beautiful graphics, and the depth of the levels is very nice. Overall, this game is a grand addition to the first installment of Prince of Persia. With great graphics and smooth controls, this game is worth keeping.
Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth - 12-23-04

review: This game is sort of odd in the sense that it is an RTS, but you don't really get to decide where to build your buildings, as in most games of its type. Having said that, the rest of the game is awesome. Being able to summon some of the movie characters as heroes is a wonderful touch, and also being able to play as either good or evil is nice. The graphics are very smooth, and the pure scale of some of the battles is unreal. Being able to command two or three hundred units at once is a very nice thing that most other games don't come near. Overall, this is game is a shoe-in as a keeper.

review: I liked the graphics on this game. The gameplay is very good all the way through the campaign mode. The controls were very smooth. I didn't like the fact that this game ran on the Command & Conquer Generals engine and that the engine caused several glitches in the game. This game and its controls are a lot like Command & Conquer Generals. Overall this game is everything i thought it would be and more. Great storyline and a gameplay that will leave you hooked for months.

review: Its pretty fun. Its not that hard to play either. Teams are pretty fun on it i like it. Its just a cool game to play. I didn't like how you have to capture everything. Its not that bad capturing stuff, but i just don't like to. I think it is just like Generals for some reason. I don't know why but i think it does, because you have to build the same just like in Generals and all that stuff. Its a also a good game to play with other people.

The Multiplayer mode was even better. In my opinion the part I didn't like was that it took too long to find your opponent. The game itself reminds me of a mix of C&C Generals and Warcraft.

review: The graphics of the game aren't really all that great, and i ran into a couple spots where the enemies and your own teammate's skin turns white. Other than that, the graphics are all right. The gameplay is better, and it runs pretty smoothly most times. The ability to search bodies for weapons, ammo, and health is very helpful. Overall the game isn't all that bad, but not all that great either.

review: Having played many other MOH titles, this one seems to be a solid addition to the group. Its a great advance along the same path as the others, but i myself still prefer a COD type game. The graphics are good, but a little grainy. The sounds are on cue, and the wide array of weaponry is very nice. Good job overall on the game.

Tribes: Vengeance - 10-25-04

review: Tribes: Vengeance is the 3rd installment of the Tribes universe from Sierra/Vivendi. The game features a detailed single player mode as well as engaging multiplayer action.
The user interface is a snap, much simpler than previous Tribes games. It is easy to find what you are looking for in the menus quickly, and they are fairly intuitive.
My first impressions were of multiplayer mode. I was impressed with the graphics and smoothness of play (on some maps). Multiplayer mode is quickly addicting as it was in the first two games as well. The weapons remain basically the same, but you have fewer to choose from. The three armor levels remain the same as well. The only detriment to gameplay seems to be that you have fewer choices for deployables, backpacks, and ammunition. In Tribes 2 we saw a huge increase in the number of weapons and equipment you could choose from, but the selection in Tribes: Vengeance is slightly less varied than even the original game. One difference is that all deployables including mines now have their own stations within your base that you pick them up from.
The inventory presets are similar, but your current armor/weapon configuration is not saved when you die or move on to the next round. This is a little irritating because it forces you to configure one of your presets with the configuration you want to start with. I believe the preset system in Tribes 2 is the best of the series currently. Vengeance offsets this irritation slightly by allowing for user-defined configurations--which is also included in Tribes 2.
The single player mode in Tribes: Vengeance is a welcome change to the series. It begins with a fairly compelling story that draws you in immediately. Despite the awkwardness of playing a teenage princess to begin with, you are forced through an in-game, in-story tutorial that teaches you the basics of the game. After a point this becomes tedious, but then you are quickly shuffled into the story some more. Previous Tribes single player modes were little more that training simulations. This is where Vengeance appears to shine.
The controls in Tribes: Vengeance are much the same as previous games, and are configurable. Your character handles well and weapons handle great if you are used to the previous games. My only gripe in this area is that you cannot cycle the zoom level unless you are already holding the zoom button down.
My overall impressions of Tribes: Vengeance are good, and I rate the game 4/5 overall, very good, as I enjoyed about 95% of my time in the game.

If you are just now getting into the FPS genre, this may be a bit of a high curve to meet, but for all you hardcore Tribes fans, this one is right up your alley. review: When I first played the Star Wars mod for Battlefield, i thought, hey, this is a nice concept. Then, i heard about the actual game being made as a Battlefield-type action/shooter. I was kind of wary of playing it, until i tried it on the PS2. After that, i was hooked. I moved on to the PC, where the controls are instinctive, graphics are excellent, and the gameplay is smooth and has no rough edges. Overall, great game. That's all there is to it.
